365 GRATEFUL project.

In January 2008, in an effort to fight depression, Hailey Bartholomew started a year long photographic project which involved taking one Polaroid photo a day of something she felt grateful for. Watch this video to learn about why she decided to do this project.

Why do you think Hailey seems so much happier now than before the project?
How does the film make you feel?
Do you like the project?

I would like you to consider doing a project, but there is no obligation; you should only do it if you want to. You can choose the project which most appeals to you:

· Write one sentence a day during a month about something you feel grateful for.
· Take one photo a day during a month of something you feel grateful for. You should also write a sentence saying why you feel grateful.
· Take a one-second video using your mobile phone a day during a month of something you feel grateful for. You should also write a sentence saying why you feel grateful.

Watch this short video in which we see moments Hailey recorded on a summer holiday as an example of the one-second videos.

Music in the classroom.

Music is an art. But what’s music for you? Is it important in your life?  What does music mean to you? This week we’ll talk a little bit about music and about how music makes us feel.
What kind of music do you like listening to? Where do you listen to music? What emotions do you feel when you listen to your favourite music? Is there any type of music you listen to when you feel blue/happy/anxious? Is there a special song for you? Why is it special? These quotations about music are from musicians. Discuss them and choose your favourite one.

Here you can practice your listening skills with some music.

Listen to If I were a boy by Beyoncé Knowls and enjoy it.

Here you’ve got a better version of “Sorry seems to be the hardest word”. I hope you like it!

Do you like the song "Lead the way"?
Here you’ve got the video.
