The Rules Rap

We have discussed about the need of having the classroom rules
clear from the beginning. We made a debate and we reached
an agreement: our classroom contract. Great!

A good way to remember something is to associate it with
images or music.

Do you like music? What kind of music do you like?
Do you play any instrument? Do you like rap music?
Would you like to write a rap song?

Download this worksheet and go through the steps to write
our rules rap!

Advertisements

Your task is to work collaboratively to create an ad. You can work individually or in groups. Each team will invent their own product and choose a way to advertise it.

First, think about the following:

1.What is your product? Name? Function? Price? Description?
2.Who is your target audience? What is its age range?
What is the price range?
3.Why is your product necessary and unique?
4.What’s is your slogan? And your logo?
5. What persuasive techniques are you going to use?

Each team member will participate in creating the product and its ad.

365 GRATEFUL project.

In January 2008, in an effort to fight depression, Hailey Bartholomew started a year long photographic project which involved taking one Polaroid photo a day of something she felt grateful for. Watch this video to learn about why she decided to do this project.

Why do you think Hailey seems so much happier now than before the project?
How does the film make you feel?
Do you like the project?

I would like you to consider doing a project, but there is no obligation; you should only do it if you want to. You can choose the project which most appeals to you:

· Write one sentence a day during a month about something you feel grateful for.
· Take one photo a day during a month of something you feel grateful for. You should also write a sentence saying why you feel grateful.
· Take a one-second video using your mobile phone a day during a month of something you feel grateful for. You should also write a sentence saying why you feel grateful.

Watch this short video in which we see moments Hailey recorded on a summer holiday as an example of the one-second videos.

The new rules.

First thing we did this new year was to set a number of rules we considered important. But it was too boring and we decided to write a rap with them. Do you want to listen to it?
Watch and read and you'll freak out!

International day.

We’ve celebrated the Book Day, the Music Day, Mother’s Day… Some people even celebrate Croissant’s Day! What International Day would you create? How would you celebrate it?

The perfect teacher.

In a week it's "teacher's day" and we want to  celebrate it thinking aloud. It's easy to criticize and even easier to see the mistakes that teachers make. But what's a good teacher? What characteristics should the best teacher have? Today in class we discussed about what a good teacher is for us. Leave your conclusions here.
